Q: I noticed that there are 5 grams of fiber in each serving of TRUE-MASS®. Why?
A: The fiber matrix included in TRUE-MASS® supports gastrointestinal health. When consumed and ultimately digested by the body, fiber acts to increase the surface area that the body can absorb nutrients across, which increases nutrient uptake and utilization. The fiber in TRUE-MASS® also contributes to the sustained release aspect of the formula.
Q: Why is there so much cholesterol in TRUE-MASS®?
A: The 110 mg of cholesterol found in TRUE-MASS® is the product of (1) the specific proteins contained within the blend and (2) the sunflower oil and medium chain triglycerides (MCT’s). It’s important to understand that there are two types of cholesterol, High Density Lipoproteins (HDL), typically referred to as the “Good” cholesterol, and Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL), typically referred to as the “Bad” cholesterol. Sources of HDL cholesterol like fish and vegetable oils (unsaturated fats) have been found to raise HDL levels, while sources of bad cholesterol like the high saturated fat content found in red meat, certain cheese and palm oil tend to raise LDL levels. The fats contained in TRUE-MASS® are predominantly of the unsaturated variety, originating from sunflower oil and medium chain triglycerides. In fact, you’ll notice that each serving of TRUE-MASS® contains only 5 grams of actual saturated fat. Regardless of that, if you do suffer from high cholesterol levels, you must check with your primary care physician first before starting supplementation with TRUE-MASS® and engaging in an exercise program. Your physician will be able to offer the best advice as to whether or not TRUE-MASS® has a place in your diet.
Q: What percent of the recommended daily values of the antioxidant Vitamins A, C and E does TRUE-MASS® contain per serving?
A: TRUE-MASS® contains 100% of the recommended daily value for no less than 21 vitamins and minerals, which includes Vitamins A, C and E.
Q: I am lactose-intolerant. Can I take TRUE-MASS®?
A: 5 of the 6 proteins contained in TRUE-MASS® are milk based; therefore, there is a degree of lactose in the product. Given your lactose intolerance condition, whether or not you can consume TRUE-MASS® is a question best answered by your primary care physician. He or she will be able to assess the level of your lactose intolerance and make a recommendation. We have gotten feedback from lactose intolerant individuals who consume TRUE-MASS®, some of whom feel no discomfort, and others who just simply need to take a lactase enzyme 30 minutes prior to consumption. Again though, regardless of that, please check with your primary care physician prior to consuming TRUE-MASS® if you are lactose intolerant.
Q: I cannot seem to find the amino acid profile for TRUE-MASS® anywhere on the label. Can you supply this information?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot release the exact amino acid profile found within TRUE-MASS®, owing to the fact that the blend is proprietary and protected. By releasing this amino acid breakdown, we would be potentially opening the door to competitors copying the ratios and attempting to mimic the TRUE-MASS formula. If you have a specific question regarding a particular amino acid’s concentration, please call our Customer Service Department at 1-877-673-3727 and make a technical inquiry. From there, someone in our Research and Development Department can help to answer your question.
