Frequently Asked Questions
Questions & Answers For: Muscletech Gakic Hardcore
Q. What is Gakic? (Posted: 24th August, 2006)
A. GAKIC is an advanced technological breakthrough that can help athletes immediately increase strength by 10.5%, and increase fatigue resistance by 28%.

GAKIC has been engineered to work quickly at the muscle fiber level, without the need for stimulants. GAKIC is truly revolutionary, as no one else in the industry has even come close to producing a supplement like it. So much time and effort went into the product that it took over eight years to research!

Q. How does Gakic actually work? (Posted: 24th August, 2006)
A. When training, metabolic fatigue sets in due to the build-up of various metabolic by-products which negatively affects exercise performance and inhibits some aspects of the muscle's contractile machinery. GAKIC helps your body deal with this metabolic fatigue and thus delays this moment of failure - helping you get 1, 2, or even 3 more reps in. That's what GAKIC can do for you. And that's why it's so revolutionary. Once you train with GAKIC, you'll never want to train without it.

Q. Will I feel anything after taking Gakic? If so, how long will it take? (Posted: 24th August, 2006)
A. That's where GAKIC is different from anything else you've ever tried before. Studies show that subjects using GAKIC experienced an immediate 10.5 percent increase in strength after taking it.

Not days or weeks later, but right after the very first dose! Just imagine if GAKIC could do the same for you. Imagine stepping in the gym with more strength than you've ever had before. Imagine heading into your set ready to make your previous best look like a warm-up. The science shows GAKIC can do this. And it shows that instead of “hitting the wall” when you normally would, GAKIC can help you lift longer than before.

In the same above-mentioned study, GAKIC supplementation was shown to significantly increase fatigue resistance by up to an average of 28 percent when compared with the placebo. You do the math. More strength plus less fatigue equals better gains.

Q. Can you tell me more about the scientific studies on Gakic? (Posted: 24th August, 2006)
A. In a double-blind, randomized, crossover-designed study conducted at the University of Florida by Stevens et al. (2000), participants ingested either glycine-l-arginine-alpha-ketoisocaproic acid calcium, the primary indegredients in GAKIC, or a placebo (9.46 g sucrose) prior to exercise. After supplementation, subjects performed consecutive right knee concentric and eccentric contractions.

Measurements were taken during the last 5 reps of each set. Sets were performed at 0 minutes, 5 minutes, and at 15 minutes. Significant changes in time taken to fatigue of up to an average of 28 percent were recorded when compared to the placebo (see table 1).

Treatment also increased the mean total work per set by an overall 10.5 percent over the 15-minute period (see fig. 1 and table 1). Based on this study, the researchers concluded that glycine-l-arginine-alpha-ketoisocaproic acid calcium treatment increases the ability to sustain muscle force, delays fatigue, and increases total muscle work.

In another double-blind, randomized, crossover-designed study conducted by Buford et al. (2004), subjects were given glycine-l-arginine-alpha-ketoisocaproic acid calcium or a placebo before exercise and measured during repeated bouts of anaerobic cycling performance.

Subjects performed a series of five 10-second sprints against resistance. Results indicated glycine-l-arginine-alpha-ketoisocaproic acid calcium treatment significantly decreased the drop in mean power between the first and second sprints, resulting in a longer time taken to fatigue. The researchers concluded the findings obtained from this study supported the work of Stevens et al. (2000) at the University of Florida.

Q. Does Gakic contain Creatine? (Posted: 24th August, 2006)
A. No. GAKIC is not a creatine supplement. Creatine increases the regeneration of a primary muscle fuel source called adenosine triphosphate (ATP). GAKIC works at the muscle fiber level via different metabolic mechanism than creatine. One of GAKIC's jobs is to remove fatigue toxins – toxins that prevent your muscles from making more ATP.

A whole new supplement category has been created for bodybuilders and other athletes. And with two separate studies backing the effectiveness of glycine-l-arginine-alpha-ketoisocaproic acid calcium, you know this stuff is for real.

Q. Can itake gakic with horleys ice whey which also contains a fair amount of arginine? (Posted: 20th Jan, 2009)
A. Generally products are made to be safe to use together. Aginine is an amino acid found in all sorts of foods so it is something that we are getting every day anyway.

To reach a toxic dose, you would need to consume huge amounts. Some research shows even at a dose of 60grams per day there were still no side effects.

So maybe stay well under this amount, which should be easy as usually the amounts contained in supplements is in the mg range, and you should be fine!

Q. Hi there.im turning 17 this year and was wondering if the musclebuilding stack would be bad for me, especially gakic? (Posted: 20th Jan, 2009)
A. If you are wanting to put on lean muscle gains, I suggest you stick to a protein powder to start with, and slowly build from there. You are still growing so go with a protein powder for now!
