| Q. Why use Whey protein instead of Soy Protein? |
(Posted: 30th Oct, 2006) |
A. Hi Bruce, Soy Protein is cheaper than Whey but is not as bioavailable as Whey protein which means it takes longer to absorb, and less nutrients are absorbed.
There are also definitely issues with consuming large qty's of soy for males in terms of estrogen levels, which is something you certainly want to avoid!
You will find that the only supplements containing Soy are generally the products aimed at women where estrogen isnt an issue, and they do this to reduce the cost of production as Soy is the one of the cheapest forms of protein.
Whey also mixes (WPI at least) much, much better than Soy and arguably tastes better. |

| Q. Im working out three times per week at the gym in training for the rugby season. What supplements would you recommend for this? |
(Posted: 1st Nov, 2006) |
A. Gday, I would recommend a good quality protein that you wont get 'sick of' something that is fast absorbing and good for recovery. Horleys Ice Whey would be ideal, its a 100% WPI product meaning fast absorption, easy mixing with water, tastes good (doesnt lump together), and isnt a chore to consume. With that level of training you might consider having three serves a day of Horleys Ice Whey...
Its also got 2.5g of Glutamine per serve (thats a generous amount) which is great for muscle recovery when exercising.
Horleys Ice Whey is the rolls royce of proteins, there are cheaper proteins out there which will do almost as good a job, one being EAS 100% Whey which will cost less per serve. However, its not 100% WPI and doesnt taste as good mixed with water.
I would definitely also look at EAS Phosphagen 100% Pure Creatine because its relatively cheap and will give you more strength, size and better recovery. Its the second most commonly used sports supplement.
The above assumes you are also eating very well and taking a multi-vitamin etc. The above is recommened as supplementation, in addition to what your eating of course! Which should be a mix of clean carbs, high protein and a little fat.
So the three supplements I recommend are (1) Protein powder (2) Glutamine (3) Creatine ... but the glutamine is in they Ice Whey (already added!). Unless you take EAS 100% Whey ... in which case get some Glutamine Powder as well and take 5g per day for recovery. |

| Q. I'm weight training three times a week. What supplements would you recommend on work out days, as well as on non-work out days? |
(Posted: 2nd Dec, 2006) |
A. Hi there, I would recommed a good quality protein supplement such as Horleys Ice Whey mixed with water, three times per day on training days. Once before, once after and once before bed. Also on non training days once in the morning and then in the afternoon. This is in addition to your regular high protein meals...
You may also want to try Creatine taken every day whcih will definitely help, taken one hour before training for an energy boost also, and taken after training for recovery.
Have you tried testosterone boosters like tribulus? These are really good for building lean muscle, increasing strength etc. Consider Musashi Tribulus combined with Musashi ZMA at night time. |

| Q. Hi there, I've recently started on fitness. Am trying to lose weight and fat i should say and gain a bit more muscle. Have been doing weights and cardio. What would you best recommend as a good fat burner supplement. There's quite a few there. One that is good and wont have any side effects? |
(Posted: 30th Dec, 2006) |
A. Hi there, well without wanting to simplify it too much... there are really three types of fat loss supplements out there that work. The first is whats known as Fat metabolisers, and these commonly contain amino acids and other ingredients that help mobilise the fats into your blood stream before exercise. They have absolutely no side effects, and are actually great supplements to take for general health...an example of this would be the Musashi Mega Fat Metaboliser with Carnitine. This product is also not very expensive.
There is also a huge range of whats knowns at Fat Burners, as these commonly contain Caffeine, Green Tea, White Willow Bark, Guarana etc. These may give you a small buzz and can keep you awake if you take them in the evening or late afternoon. Other than that, they are very effective if taken regualarly (daily) over a period of 4-6 weeks. Examples of this include Hydroxycut, Rave (by SynTec), Thermalene (By Syn Tec), Nobese (La Muscle) and all the others in the Fat Burner category.
Finally there is a new class of weight loss products that work by stimulating the thyroid. This is what HotRox does by Biotest. The product range is a little confusing because they have about three different versions, but essentially the HotRox product is the original version and contains caffeine and guarana in addition to a few other ingredients. It does therefore tend to provide a stimulating effect on your central nervous system (which you may or may not like). It will also give you more energy and focus.
They have also brought out (confusingly!) a product called Maximum Strenght HotRox which is the same as HotRox only minus the CNS (central nervous system) stimulants, but with MORE of the thyroid activator. It has less side effects therefore.
I will admit, that the whole range of options and products is quite confusing. I personally recommend the New Zealand fat burner called RAVE by Syn-Tec as its great value for money. I also recommend HotRox as its widely used in competition bodybuilding and for those who are serious about shedding those last few kilos.
There are other categories of products, like appetite suppressants but I dont personally recommend these. These arent required if you have discipline. There is one targeted at women called Fahrenheit which is the best of its kind.
Hope this helps! |

Q. Hi there, im currently taking Horleys Awesome Mass protein and glutamine powder in shake form with gym training 5 days a week. Is the EAS Phosphagen Creatine suitable/stable as well as the powder? I dont want to over load. Training is intensive building with cardio as much as possible. What would be a suitable balance?
Cheers? |
(Posted: 6th Jan, 2007) |
A. Hi there, protein is great to assist with recovery when you are doing alot of cardio, to prevent muscle wastage. However, Creatine is really ideal for strength gains and for repairing damaged muscle, for example for bodybuilders or sprinters, rugby players etc.
If you are simply trying to lose weight and tone up, Creatine isnt necessary. If you want to lose fat and build alot of large muscle (bulk up) then Creatine is ideal and can certainly be taken with Protein Powder and Glutamine (in fact, its ideal taken with these two other popular supplements). |
| Back to Top |
| Q. Hi there, I just got a Musashi Fat metaboliser + carnitine to aid with my weight and fat loss. I'm also doing weights as part of my training. What Whey protein powder would you recommend. At the moment i'm not looking for to much mass gain. Something that will aid in weight loss and muscle gain? |
(Posted: 6th Jan, 2007) |
A. You can't go past the Horleys products for quality and freshness, they are made in New Zealand and represent great value for money. I would recommend the Horleys Ice Whey taken several times a day (before and after training immediately).
Its a 100% WPI Protein which is rapidly absorbed, easily digested, and tastes fine with 150mls of water. Dont make the mistake of using alot of water to mix with it.
You can also mix it with Skim milk for extra protein and carbs.
Also dont hesitate to replace a snack (particulary at night) with a protein shake instead. If you are frequently training at the gym that extra protein is really required.
If you are on a budget, the EAS 100% Whey Protein is cheaper per serve, and is very good. However, its not as pure as the Horleys Ice Whey.
Avoid bulking products like Musashi Bulk, they are loaded with sugary carbs and arent good if you are trying to lose weight and pack on lean muscle. |

| Q. I am just starting the body for life challenge. I want to look like Bill Phillips, Amazing body and life. I am not sure about the right supplements to take. There are million's for sale. Are the EAS products better or just the same as the rest. If you were to start this challenge what brands and products would you take? |
(Posted: 22nd Jan, 2007) |
A. Hi there, fair comment there are millions of supplements out there. One of the reasons is that some people prefer certain brands and when they have had results with them, they dont like to change. Others like to experiment with different brands particularly protein powders, as they get bored of the same flavour and taste.
I personally highly recommend the EAS products, their 100% Whey protein is easily digested, mixes with water or milk and has a high amino acid profile. Its also very good value for money. So is their Creatine product Phosphagen, and is very popular for this reason.
One of their real cutting edge products is Muscle Armour, and this will certainly help with recovery for you if you are intensively exercising (say more than four times per week). Its an area that many athletes (even professional) overlook and thats recovery from training. Faster recovery means quicker muscle gains and less muscle wastage, which in turn leads to a leaner physique.
So if intend on 'going hard' with training make sure you take care of your recovery needs. Consider EAS Muscle Armour or at the very least, EAS Glutamine. Another good recovery product is the Musashi Recovery Stack. Also take a good sports multi-vitamin and get 9 hours or more sleep per night.
Just my two cents worth, hope this helps! |

| Q. Hi there, I work out with weights 3 times a week and cardio for the rest. I am looking to build/tone up muscle and lose fat. I have used Horleys Muscle Factor in the past. What would you recommend to use and what has replaced the Muscle Factors? Thanks? |
(Posted: 23rd Jan, 2007) |
A. Hi there, if money is no problem and you are serious about bodybuilding and weightlifting then go for Horleys Ice Whey. Its a premium 100% whey isolate protein enhanced with extra Glutamine and mixes very easily with water or milk.
The other option is the Horleys Awesome Whey which is a mainstream protein powder that is a mixture of whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate.
However, if you really want to tone up then the Horleys Ripped Factors is a very popular product, and our 3kg tub is the cheapest available on the internet.
However, you only need small servings because its very pure protein, so even the 1.32kg tub will last a long time.
Based on your situation though, as you want to lose weight I would go for Ripped Factors. Ripped Factors is actually Ice Whey, but with added fat loss ingredients including carnitine, caffeine and citrimax. |

| Q. Hi there, I've recently started on fitness. I would like to build up my ab and chest (not bulky).... what sought of products do I have use from your shop? |
(Posted: 27th Jan, 2007) |
A. Hi there, well I would be looking at reducing your body fat percentage to expose your abs, and in terms of supplementation avoid Creatine because this will give you bulk, instead a quality protein powder like EAS 100% Whey taken 1-2 serves per day when you exercise would be ideal. Obviously you will want concentrate on your chest and upper body in the gym.
Just some tips on working your abs, remember that abs heal very quickly from exercise so you can actually exercise then daily! Five minutes of abs exercises before bedtime every night is ideal, and you will see results in about two weeks.
After six weeks or so, try using a small 2-5kg weight on your chest for extra resistance when doing sit ups.
Also reduce your carb and fat intake of course, and if your hungry eat quality protein, fruits and vegetables. |

| Q. Just wanted to know what would be the best supplements for off and on season training for a powerlifter? |
(Posted: 3rd Feb, 2007) |
A. Hi there, I would recommend a good testosterone booster like Syntec Andro Jack, that will also help lift strength instantly. So will Muscletech Gakic, although its quite expensive, it will give you a instant and noticeable increase in strength either for your training sessions, or for competing.
Obviously the staples of protein and powder and creatine are also highly recommended. Try taking the creatine 1 hour before training for extra muscle energy.
Of course you should be supplementing with plenty of protein, particularly before and after training or competing.
Hope this helps! |

| Q. With four kids and working in my business, I am not able to do alot of exercise. Is this product safe to use and will it help in shedding the stubborn fat around my abdomen? |
(Posted: 5th Feb, 2007) |
A. Yes it will help to reduce some fat, and depending on your physiology, that fat may be around your waist. However, the mechanism by which you lose that weight could be a number of ways. For example, not only will it raise your metabolism, it will also slightly reduce your appetite.
Over a period of 6-8 weeks, you should notice a small decrease in fat, in the 2-3 kgs range or more, assuming no exercise. This is just a generalistion of course.
The best thing you can do combined with this is to reduce your carb intake, especially at night time (if you dont have anytime for exercise).
In terms of whether its safe to use, absolutely. These type of products are used by millions of people around the world every day, and its arguable they are actually beneficial, as many contain essential amino acids and other nutrients.
The only thing to be wary of, is if you have heart problems (and by that I mean any sort of heart problems in your history) which may be exacerbated by using the product. You can also get mild insomnia if you take the tablets too late in the day, as they also contain guarana (caffeine). |

| Q. Hi, I am taking nobese, creatine and a protein shake before bed? Is taking the supplements at once going to effect me in any way? |
(Posted: 16th Feb, 2007) |
| A. Nobese is a thermogenic and shouldnt be taken at night, the creatine should really be taken an hour before or immediately after training (same with the protein). It wont harm you - but it may be keeping you awake! Also, creatine can have a mild stimulant/energy effect... |

| Q. Hi, I am a female and wanting to lose approx 10kg. I want to know what product to buy to help me. I do 40min weights and 30min cardio 3 mornings and a bike class 2 afternoon. I take Horleys Ripped with water 30min before weights in the morning and 1hr on the afternoons I do cycle. Arms are getting bigger, but not noticing any difference with clothes (i.e., weight loss). I eat relatively healthy (although alcohol on weekends is main problem). Is there something else I should buy or should I increase intake of ripped? It's getting frustrating!!? |
(Posted: 22nd Feb, 2007) |
A. Hi there, dont give up on the weights, but also try more lower body strength building as your legs are the largest muscle groups. Take the Horleys Ripped immediately after training too, and remember if you are going to eat carbs to eat them before the workout, and moderately after (but dont eliminate them). On your non training days cut back on your carbs, particularly at night.
Im loathe to recommend supplements just because we sell them! But you may find you get food results from a thermogenic such as Biotest HotRox. It will also give you more energy for workouts.
I think the key here is patience, providing you are not doing anything stupid like drinking alot of soft drink or eating stacks of pasta at night, you should be losing fat every week measurably but gradully. You might just need to look at this over a 12 week period.
You might also want to increase your aerobic activity in terms of regularity, ensuring that you do 20 minutes of aerobic activity in the morning 5 days a week to stimulate your metabolism.
Having a blow out on the weekend is no big deal in my opinion, and alcohol being a poison its processed by your body quickly and isnt necessarily converted to glycogen. The problem is when you binge and your liver is affected for 1-2 days after (i.e. hangover). Fatty deposits in your liver mean a more lethargic metabolism and less fat burning from other areas of your body. |

| Q. Hi, I work out four times a week during my lunch break (2 cardio, 2 weights) and was thinking about a protein shake to stop eating junk food after my workouts. I have an office job and get really hungry after my gym seasons. This normally means eating a bag of chips or a chocolate bar around 3:30pm. Though I would try and eat something better for me. I don't want to put on any extra fat and snacks aren't healping. What would you take? |
(Posted: 22nd Feb, 2007) |
A. Oh dear! Yes your body is definitely craving the calories, so its imperative you replace this with a protein shaker, preferably one mixed with Skim Milk, and maybe some honey or a banana for a moderate amount of carbs.
ANY Protein is going to be a huge improvement on your current regime, and eating this sort of food post aerobic training is totally undoing your hard work.
I suggest a high quality WPI protein that mixes well with water or milk so you can prepare it in a shaker at work. I recommend Horleys Ice Whey. |

| Q. Hi, I have been weight training for some time now and have found that the most effective way for me to gain mass was with weight gain products. I have since stopped after finding out that the process in which these products are made uses animal skin membrane (or something like that). I am not a vegetarian but I only eat Halal meat products. Are your weight gainers Halal, if so does it say so on the container? |
(Posted: 11th March, 2007) |
A. Hi there, I can assure you that Horleys Ice Whey is Halal approved, in fact it even has the logo on the product to proof it. I am also aware that Horleys Mass is halal approved, although Im not 100% sure they have the logo on the product yet.. but Ive spoken to their chief scientist and he assures me all the products are halal, but only some have been approved as such by the governing body.
So stick to Horleys protein powders as they definitely dont use animal skins as suggested. |

| Q. Hi, we currently do weight training 3 times a week as well as cardio 3 times with 1 rest day, can you recommend a protein that can either be mixed with a breakfast cereal or taken on the side to get that protein in the morning. We currenly use Horleys Ripped for post workout, P40 to make up the 6 meals a day. (eg; looking for something that could go with the poridge, yoghurt and peaches). As some mornings time does not allow to prepare eggs etc? |
(Posted: 30th May, 2007) |
| A. Hi there, actually there is no 'breakfast' protein that I know of that is designed to mix with cereal, most people just use a Vanilla flavoured protein like Horleys ICE Whey or Ripped is fine too. Vanilla flavour is not that strong and mixes well with Milk. What you really want is a 100% WPI protein like Ripped or ICE as it mixes so easily with milk/water for your breakfast cereal. |

| Q. Hi, I am interested in losing weight and gaining muscle. Ideally I would like to lose about 10 kgs and put on 3-4 kgs worth of muscle. I was looking at getting Hydroxycut Hardcore and PVL protein powder (after much googling these come across as great products). Would you recommend using these two products together? Is there a better combination you would recommend? I workout pretty hard. 6 times a week Muay Thai and Boxing (roughly two hours each - always intense) and 3 times weight training for explosive power. Also trying to get the right diet portions going. Always hungry all the time though..? |
(Posted: 7th June, 2007) |
A. Hi there, sounds like you are on the right track for sure! You cant help but lose weight on that sort of a program, providing you are still being very careful about your diet. The obvious things still apply, like avoiding excess carbs and fats.
Supplementing with Protein powder will not only help you build more muscle quicker, but it will also greatly enhance your actual recovery. This is because Whey protein powder, such as PVL WheyMaxx is loaded with branch chain amino acids which are essential for muscle recovery after intensive training such as Muay thai.
You can definitely take Hydroxycut Hardcore on top of your protein powder too, this a great mix if you are aiming to put on muscle and reduce fat.
The only other supplement I would recommend would be a testosterone booster, something like Andro Jack or ISA-TEST, as this will also help build muscle, strength, and act as an anabolic (reducing fat and increasing muscle). Youll also experience increased focus and aggression which will really help your Muay Thai training. |

| Q. I am in my first month of my second body for life challenge, this time it is more about putting on muscle than it is losing weight. Besides protein, what supplements would you recommend for best strength gains? |
(Posted: 25th June, 2007) |
A. Hi Julian, yes I would take creatine in the last 6 weeks or so, a good quality creatine like Kre-Alkalyn or Creakic.
I would definitely be taking several protein supplements a day (before and after training) in addition to meals. Something like EAS 100% Whey protein is ideal.
If you are training really hard and what the very best results, then (although its expensive) EAS Muscle Armour is a well proven recovery and muscle growth product that helps your muscles repair themselves.
Finally I would try a couple of different testosterone boosters and protein synthesisers, probably starting with something like Norateen II Heavyweight and then moving onto Isatori ISA-Test for the final 6 weeks. Definitely keep up with the testosterone boosters, and they will also really help with your motivation and desire to exercise. Unless of course, you are under 24 or so in which case you may already have high testosterone levels! You will know they are working because you will definitely feel the effects of testosterone boosters like ISA-TEST.
Norateen II HW works differently again in that it acts as a protein synthesiser in addition to several other actions (in addition to just raising testosterone) all geared towards putting on muscle. |

| Q. Hi, I've been going to a ladies gym 3 times per week for past 6 months, and using Sculpt shake as a meal replacement. I have lost 6.5kg but wonder if I need more protein. Would the sculpt bars fit the bill &/or add in a carbo drink too? |
(Posted: 5th July, 2007) |
A. Hi there, you dont say in your enquiry whether you are doing weights or just cardio, or a mixture. But even if you are doing cardio, you should definitely be taking a serve of protein post workout. You also really need to take some carbs before your workout, and after... and the Horleys Sculpt powder doesnt contain any carbs to mention of course.
If you continue to cut carbs significantly while exercising three times per week, you risk overtraining, fatigue and loss of motivation and even mild depression. Of course Im assuming your cutting your carbs back alot.
In terms of supplements, I would definitely recommend a good carnitine product, like Thermo Trim by Nutra Life. Carnitine taken 30 minutes before and after training will really help mobilise your fats into your blood stream and will also give you energy without being carb laden.
You seem to be taking the steady but sure approach which is great, dont give in yet! There are plenty for gains and benefits to be gained by continuing to experiment with your diet and programme to find what works for you.
The only other thing I would say about Horleys Sculpt is that really, its just a basic entry level protein powder, and quite frankly, there are much better powders available in larger size tubs which are not only easier to digest, but mix better, taste better, and are just as nutritious. If you are taking protein every day, I would go up a size maybe to Horleys ICE Whey 1.5KG or perhaps if you really like a nice tasting powder, the PVL Whey Gourmet is AWESOME! |

| Q. Just curious I work on a farm and the work is very physical, if you take somthing like Muscletech Muscle Building Stack with say ISA Test will I notice any affects in muscle gain and strength without doing the proper work out? |
(Posted: 30th July, 2007) |
A. Hi there, all these products are desinged to enhance your existing workout program/strength exercises. While its true your doing alot of physical work, there is absolutely no substitute for intense weight lifting/resistance training to build muscle and gain strength. You definitely will not get excellent results from taking the supplements alone, I would encourage you instead to get some dumb bells and look up some basic exercises on the internet, and do these 2-3 times per week. This without a doubt will produce better results than supplements alone!
Having said that, if you are working on the farm you may not be getting enough protein, so I would consider taking a protein supplement (pretty much any protein supplement would be suitable - but lets say PVL WheyMaxx as its great value for money and tastes great) at least once per day.
You might consider having a protein shake together with your breakfast, or as a mid morning or mid afternoon snack. This will help build and maintain and repair muscle.
If you just want 'instant' results with no workouts or exercise, then really the best supplement would be Creatine as this will put muscle on people if they dont exercise.
However, if you are over 35 and there are other symptoms which suggest low testosterone levels, then you may well benefit from a testosterone booster. You will feel the results of ISA Test almost immediately, and it will tend to also give you more energy. However, its an advanced product and not something you really want to take for the rest of your life, as you need to cycle it (come off it every month for several weeks). |

| Q. Can you tell me your single best product for optimal muscle gain fast, and why? |
(Posted: 16th August, 2007) |
| A. Hi there, thats easy... its Protein as its the best selling and most widely used Body Building supplement. The why is also simple, as your muscles NEED protein to recover and rebuild their muscle tissue after intense workouts. If you are talking about Anabolic type products, then the jury is out on that! However, the second best selling product for fast muscle gains would be Creatine. I suggest doing some research on Creatine and working out the best product for you, as there are also many different types of creatine and methods of consumption and delivery. |

| Q. Hey im 20 and of the ectomorph body type, I've been working out a few years now and want to start bodybuilding and wanted to know what are some good supplements for building mass to take besides the obvious protein and creatine? |
(Posted: 24th Sept, 2007) |
| A. Well, to be honest.. they are your best bet at your age in my opinion! The reason sometimes people dont get results from taking protein and creatine is generally a combination of not enough resistance training, and not enough protein serves, at the ideal times. Even the leanest person can pack on hard muscle if they stick to the tried and proven methods of doing so. Its important to consider every aspect of your training program which isnt possible in a response like this. However, it sounds like you may not have got the results from protein and creatine that you expected, if this is the case... then I would address that before trying something else. There are other products out there that may help, but most are designed as anabolic products (assisting with muscle growth) or testosterone boosters and are better taken when you have been working out for several months and want to take your results to the next level. Also, at your age you probably wont get any real benefits from Test boosters like Tribulus so dont waste your money on these, they are for blokes over 25. |

| Q. Hi, I just wanted to ask whether it is possible to use whey protein with hot milk or water to create a hot chocolate like drink. I wasn't sure whether or not I would be able to do this without damaging the protein etc? |
(Posted: 1st Oct, 2007) |
A. Heat does damage protein and potentially affect its nutritional value, but there are no studies I can find relating to mixing protein with hot water. Another method is to mix the protein first with skim milk and then add it to a coffee... this is a popular way to take a smaller amount of whey protein.
I personally think its fine to take it in a hot chocolate and the chances are that any degradation of the protein would be moderate, particularly if the not prepared too hot. |

| Q. What is the difference between Fat burners and Fat Metabolisers? |
(Posted: 2nd Oct, 2007) |
A. Good question, Fat Burners are called this as they are designed to work normally through a number of actions, but primarily through raising your body temperature slightly and increasing your metabolism. They normally contain ingredients such as guarana, caffeine, white willow bark, green tea extract and possibly ginger. Its possible to build a tolerance to these products over time, so they are best used for periods of up to one month before resting 1-2 weeks. Common Fat burners include Hydrxoxycut, Thermalene (NZ Version) and La Muscle Nobese. These products are central nervous stimulants and as such, you can normally feel them working. You may also experience increased energy levels with them for this reason, and they shouldnt be taken late in the day.
Fat Metabolisers on the other hand, work 'silently' by helping your body to both mobilise existing fat stores into your bloodstream, and also to make your body a more efficient fat burninig machine. They can be taken with Fat Burners if desired, or on their own. They generally contain a number of carefully chosen amino acids, such as Methionine, and may be blended also with Carnitine. They are generally less expensive per serve than Fat Burners, however you may need to take them more often... say up to three times per day for best results. |

| Q. Hi there, I am a 57yr old male and I do a half hour 4 to 5 times a week of weights, plus a full days work as a tradesmen, 5 days a week... I take whey protein everyday, but do not seem to be able to get my midrift down in size any suggestions...Not a big guy 75kg, but have put on muscle in other areas...Thanks....? |
(Posted: 28th Oct, 2007) |
A. Hi there, you should definitely try a testosterone booster, these are natural products which are not steroids, but will naturally increase your testosterone (actually, within an hour of taking them).
There are numerous supplements that can boost test, but there is one which packages all these into one powerful pill, and thats ISA-TEST. You dont need to take the full maximum dose (4 caps) you could just take 2 or 3 caps per day. In fact, at your body weight, 2 caps should be fine.
This will give you increase energy, sex drive, confidence, feelings of well being, and help put on muscle while reducing fat stores.
The other thing I would say is that you may have to start increasing your cardio to 1 day a week, e.g. playing squash or going for a run, in order to swing the balance the other way. Your work as a tradesmen probably helps, but unless you are getting your heart rate up your not getting any fitter or protecting your heart for the future too.
Finally, make sure you eat a really good breakfast such as baked beans, trim bacon, eggs, porridge etc and try to keep nightly portions down and make sure its not the biggest meal of the day.
But try the ISA-TEST I am sure you will like it! |

| Q. Hi, I am a mountain biker racing at an elite level and train 12+ hours a week. I spend two days a week in the gym but find it very hard to make any significant muscle gains. I dont have any need for fat loss as I already have a low body fat but to improve my sports performance and general wellbeing I would like to gain a few kgs of muscle. Could you recommend products and strategies to me that would help me with this goal? |
(Posted: 30th Nov, 2007) |
A. Well I think you are going to find it very hard to put on significant muscle with that much cardio going on, in combination with your already good metabolism. My suggestion would be to ensure you are feeding your body with plenty of BCAA's for muscle recovery, perhaps some Glutamine, and maybe even HMB. These are all excellent for endurance athletes. If you really wanted to splash out you could try EAS Muscle Armour, its perfect for you as its loaded with amino acids and muscle recovery nutrients such as what I mention. You should also supplement this with 1-2 servings of good protein a day, such as Ice Whey (which incidentally, has 3g of Glutamine already per serve).
If you do all of the above and train harder with the weights, then youll get stronger and should start to put on some lean muscle. |

| Q. Hi, I am currently 131kg and I'm 6'6. I havent done any training for a very long time, and due to my very busy life, I want to maximise my time spent at the gym. I would like to gain as much muscle mass as possible as well as a lot of strength. I understand you would get asked this question alot but Im at the stage in my life where its time for a serious upgrade! So could you please help!? |
(Posted: 12th Feb, 2008) |
A. Hi there, the best advice I can give is to use Google as much as possible and just read as much as you can on body building. While you need to start out slowly, dont make the mistake of going soft and using weights which are too light, or not doing enough sets so that you dont stress your muscles. I personally believe in 'failing on every set' and its a principle that I will take to the grave unless proven otherwise. Time and time again, you see newbies at they gym who are obviously not doing themselves any justice with their lack lustre workouts.
In terms of nutrition, you absolutely must supplement with protein powder 2-3 times daily if you want mass and strength, and this is on top of your regular high protein and good carbs. Also dont forget to eat some saturated fat, you need it for muscle gain, testosterone production and serotonin production - all pretty important things!
Dont start with creatine straight away, but try it in a few months to take you to the next level.
Get plenty of good quality sleep, drink lots of water and take a good sports multi everyday too. Good luck! |

| Q. What protein shake do you recommend for gaining weight fast? I weigh 50kg and my height is 5'5. I only get to eat a full meal only for dinner because I'm busy at work!? |
(Posted: 13th May, 2008) |
| A. Hi there, definitely Horleys Awesome Mass taken 2-3 times per day considering you are not getting the nutrition you really need. However, you may be malnourished due to not eating properly and should consider a multi-vitamin or a 'meal replacement' type protein powder which is fortified with vitamins and other nutrients, like Musashi P40! |
| Back to Top |
| Q. Hi, I currently purchased Syntech Rave and Horleys ICE. I work odd hours (1:00pm to 12:00 am). I do my training usually around 8:00am. What do you recommend in terms of when i should take the supplements (mins before) and the protein powder (before and after)? |
(Posted: 18th July, 2008) |
A. Syntec Rave would be useful for boosting energy pre-workout, and also later in the day to reduce appetite and boost energy. So you could try that. It doesn't really matter what hours you work, just take them as directed on the label to suit your 'day'!
Protein powders such as ICE are best taken after a workout as they replace some of the glycogen stores and assist muscle repair and growth! You can also take another one throughout the day as you require depending on your personal needs. |
| Back to Top |
| Q. Hi, I work odd hours. Can Horleys ICE be taken as a meal replacement for my dinner meals. Or do I need a seperate meal replacement powder? Thanks? |
(Posted: 18th July, 2008) |
A. It really depends on your calorie requirements. If you are trying to grow, rather than trying to get leaner, it would be better to use say Horleys Awesome MASS as this is a balance of fats, proteins and carbs and so is more suitable as a meal replacement that doesn't compromise your calorie intake.
Alternatively you could add oats, wheat-bix, banana, berries and flax seed oil or a little coconut milk to your Horleys ICE which will boost the calorie intake and balance the macronutrients.
If you are trying to slim down and loose fat, the Horleys ICE as a meal replacement may be suitable but if it leaves you feeling unsatisfied, try having it with milk instead of just water, or try the other options above and adjust the rest of your diet. |

| Q. I have just come of a cycle of norateen heavyweight and has worked well, good gains, although would now like to shed some fat of the belly etc but without losing muscle mass, what is best stack or supp to do this? |
(Posted: 8th August, 2008) |
A. Sounds fantastic! How cool is it when you reap the benefit of your hard work!
I would suggest carrying on with your protein powder, and trying a fat burner/mobiliser such as La Muscle Nobese, or Fusion Sub-Q, or Muscletech Hydroxycut to boost your fat burning potential and assist you to lean down. Check out these products on the web!! |

| Q. I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and train at the gym aprox six times a week - usually cardio sessions.I'm concerned however that i will loose muscle mass. Is it safe to use MUSASHI P40 as a protein top up? |
(Posted: 8th August, 2008) |
| A. Congratulations!! I can't see any reason why you couldn't used a protein pwder whilst pregnant, however, I would suggest taking a prointout of the product with the ingredients list to your Health Professional just to be 100% sure everything is ok!! |

| Q. Hi, I have been trying to gain some muscles and loss some fats (in belly). I use bowflex system for about half an hour and then speed walk for an hour. I'm currently using a Horleys ripped factors, which my friend had recommended to take. As I'm about to empty my ripped factor, is there any other products which will help me loss the belly fats and gain some muscles for other parts? Or should I change my schedule? Thanks? |
(Posted: 8th August, 2008) |
A. Hi there,
It sounds like you are up to some great things! I would suggest chopping and varying your exercise and nutrition plan every 6-8 weeks so that the body doesn't have time to adapt too much.
If you have been getting some results from the Ripped Fators, I would keep it goingl!!
We have a fantastic deal on at the moment where you get Ripped Fators, plus the Thermogenic caps that assist weight loss for a really great price - check out the website for more info!!!
Good luck with your training goals!! |

| Q. Hi there im currently taking horley's mass protein and just wandering can i take la muscle norateen 2 with it as well i am training 3 times a week and intense? |

Q. Hi, I'm currently using Adipo-x with some crazy good results (3kg in the first 4 days, slowed up but still great) I'm by no means overweight, but want to get that ripped six pack. I'm considering taking creatine (with a whey protein shake) and an anabolic and testosterone booster (eg heavyweight 2) for overall gains, while staying on Adipo-x. Is this a good idea or is it just too much? Any product recommendations would be welcome.
Thanks heaps? |
(Posted: 29th August, 2008) |
A. That's fantastic results!! Yay for you!!! You could easily stack all the products together, however as you are not after loosing a lot of weight, you could cycle things.
Eg - You are taking a fat burner at the moment, so you could consider this your leaning phase. You could then so a building/growing phase with the creatine and teststerone booster.
Either way is ok really, how much money have you gt to spend all at the same time?
Our top selling creatine products are NFS Kre-Alkalyn, Axis Labs Creatine Ethyl Ester, and Fusion Purple-K.
Our top selling testosterone boosters are Isatori Isatest, Axis Labs Hyper Test, and LA Muscle Norateen Heavyweight II. Check out the website for more info on these products.
Good luck with your training goals!! |

| Q. Is it a good idea to mix my creatine powder into my protein power (provided it is the right dose and it is mixed evenly) in order to save time and hassle? |
(Posted: 8th Sept, 2008) |
A. It depends on when you need to take the creatine, and when you need to take a protein shake.
Eg - if you are supposed to take your creatine before a workout, and your potein shake after, then this is not ideal is it?
If you can sort out then when's, then I am sure if you wanted to mix them in it would be fine! |

| Q. How do I order from Australia? There does not seem to be an option for shipping overseas ? |
(Posted: 18th Sept, 2008) |
| Q. Hi im 18 and looking to seriously increase strength, power and a little bit of size, i dont wont to take steriodes for the bad side effects and im anti them but as i said im looking to do strength, power and hypertrophy cycles and would like you to recommend what supplements i should use to go about this eg. isatori isatest and/or isatori morph, H blocker, Tribex Gold, creatine products, pre workout and post workout product basicly the works. what should i use and how should i stake them? I will be lifting heavy twice a week and doing cardio 2-3 time a week. also i want to maintain my bodys natural production of testosterone. Thanks? |
(Posted: 3rd Oct, 2008) |
A. As you are under 30yrs, I would advise that you stay away from testosterone boosters as your body's endogenous production is at it's peak!!
Interfering with your natural production of testosterone may lead to impotence in later life so steer clear for now and take care to cycle testosterone boosters when you are over 30.
So you will need a protein powder -usually you have 1-2 shakes per day, one post workout.
You could try a creatine supplement - take as suggested on the label (each is slightly different dosages)
You could also try a preworkout supplent - I highly recommend Fusion Fubar!!
That's a great start to play around with and see what results you get. Good luck with your training goals! |

Thanks heaps? |
(Posted: 3rd Oct, 2008) |
A. I would highly recommend to anyone with a focus on loosing weight to have a good breakfast!! Like soaked muesli with grated apple and yoghurt, or eggs on toast as this is what sets up energy and hunger for the day.
If you have a shake that is ok, but you may find you get hungry. Getting hungry means you have less control over what you may reach for in terms of snacks.
If you find you are starving by the time you get home and have a large dinner, you need a bigger breakfast!!
If you find you are ok on the shakes, that is cool, keep it up.
Eating regularly - every 2-3 hrs will help to keep hunger at bay and boost your metabolism.
Low glycaemic fruits such as apples, pears, mangoes with nuts and seeds, or hummus and vege sticks are yummy and balanced snacks that will help.
It is important to eat real food, as well as utilising the shakes, otherwise when you have lost the weight, you will stop the shakes, and then your eating may not be inline with keeping your figure.
Learning good exercise and nutrition habits whilst your focus is on weight loss means a lifestyle change, and more chance of staying the slim you you want to be.
Good luck with your goals!! |

| Q. Hi there, I am enquriring about a competitive cyclist who is thinking of taking a tribulus substance to help with recovery. He is 26 and I wonder if there is something else he could be taking or whether this is the right thing? Thanks? |
(Posted: 23rd Oct, 2008) |
A. I would recommend Balance Ultimate Recovery Stack, Isatori Morph, or Cellucor R3 at this stage.
Tribulus is not really a recovery thing, it is more of a testosterone booster amoung other things which would be better to get into a little later. |

Q. Hey, im a 20 yr old male working out three to four weights sessions a week. trying to increase size for rugby season 2009. have been on whey protein mass protein powder for the last six months, have had good results but am looking to up my training and increase size over next three months. would you recomend creatine or whey protein powder or both in conjunction?
you reply will be greatly appreciated.
Regards dave? |
(Posted: 23rd Oct, 2008) |
| A. Go for both in conjuction if you have already been doing a whey protein powder and have good results, then definitely keep this up. Creatine will be a nice addition. Go for Axis Labs Cretine Ethyl Ester, Fusion Purple K, or NFS Kre-Alkalyn. |

Q. Hi,
I am in my offseason training for league. Looking to build lean muscle mass and gain strength. I am currently weight training 3-4 times a week and running/cardio 3-4 times also. Currently taking EAS Whey protein, what else should I take to help with these mass gains as looking to put on a few lean kgs of muscle? Would a testosterone booster help? any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks? |
(Posted: 7th Nov, 2008) |
A. If you are under 30, I advise you to stay away from testosterone boosters for now.
You could take a mineral supplement such as ZMA, as this provides the co-factors for making testosterone, as well as dopamine and adrenaline which are the motivational energy boosting neurotransmitters; and serotonin which is a precursor to melatonin which is your good sleeps neurotransmitter.
You could also look at a creatine supplement, I recommend NFS Kre-Alkalyn, or Fusion Purple K as these are buffered which means less side-effects, and less breaking it down before it gets to the muscle to be utilised. |

Q. Hey I'm a 22 yr old male and work out 3-4 times a week and am pretty fit as my work requires it, I havn't tried any supplements before and no mater how much or hard i work out i cant break 80kg,what would you recommend as a supplement to hep build my upper body and loose some extra from around my abs.?
Thanks? |
(Posted: 7th Nov, 2008) |
A. Have something high carb such as a banana, or a peach, or fruit in general straight after your workout. THen follow this up with a protein shake.
This will replenish your glycogen stores in the muscle (stored energy to use), as well as provide building blocks for you to repair ans build lean muscle mass.
If fat loss, plus lean muscle gains is your goal, check out Horley's Ripped Factors or Balance Ultra Ripped. |

| Q. Hi there, im a 25yr old thats been working out for 3 months, beginning stats were 83kg, bf18%. i did cardio and took balance ultra ripped, and after 8 weeks i was 74kg and bf14%. Im now on a weights prog. 4-5 times a week, super clean diet and taking balance 100% whey. Ive tried cretine but found it ineffective. i take superpump 250 preworkout aswell. Goal is build mass and keep bf dropping. Q:- is there are more suitable protein to take than the balance? take in morning, before and after w/out. Thanks!? |
(Posted: 17th Nov, 2008) |
| A. I hope you are a male, otherwise your body fat is too low to be menstruating and would be therefore less than idea. It sounds like you already have your program worked out, it is just a matter of time!! Keep up the good work!! |

| Q. Hi. I just want to know which protein powder is much better? ICE Whey or Ripped Factors? I've been comparing these two products and it seems that ICE Whey is much more expensive than Ripped Factors? |
(Posted: 20th Nov, 2008) |
A. ICE is more expensive as it is a whey protein isolate. This means you have more protein per serving.
Ripped is a formula that includes ingredients to assist fat loss, so this is helpful if this is your goal. |
| Back to Top |
| Q. What is the difference between whey protein isolate and whey protein concentrate? Which one is better? Thanks? |
(Posted: 25th Nov, 2008) |
| A. Whey protein isolate contains more protein per serve than a whey protein concentrate due to the processing. Isolate is generally preferable, however it can be quite expensive, and concentrate is still really good! |

He eats like a horse, but with all the swimming finds it very difficult to build up which his coach wants him to do. What would be the best way to go about building up as many of his competitors are on different protein type shakes. Thanks? |

- I go to the gym 4 days a week, my goal is to look good in 4 months is that reasonable
thanks? |
(Posted: 15th Jan, 2009) |

| Q. Hi, I'm a 40 year old cyclist trying to choose the right protein to aid recovery. Which products do you recommend? |
(Posted: 15th Jan, 2009) |
| A. If you are a fast metaboliser, go for a mass gainer such as PVL Mutant Mass, Horleys Awesomer Mass or Musashi Bulk. If you put on weight easily, go for Horleys Ripped factors, Balance Ultra Ripped, or jsut a plain Whey protein. |

| Q. Hi there I am a busy mum to an 11 week old & two other toddlers. I need to lose 30kgs. I am fully breastfeeding and would like your advice on which protein shake/supplements would be suitable. I have starting working out with weights 3x weekly and fit in walks in between when I can. My biggest challange is fighting fatigue and the snacking the accompanies it - I have been craving carbs like mad since my baby was born. Please advise and thanks? |
(Posted: 27th Jan, 2009) |
A. I can highly recommend Leppin Sport Ultimate Whey, and Balance Ion Exchange Whey Unflavoured as they contain only natural ingredients!
In terms of cravings, increase the amount of fibre in your foods which helps to keep you full - lots of fresh fruit and veges!
You could also possibly take some chromium to assist with sugar cravings and blood sugar balance, but please check with your doctor if this is safe to consume, and at what dosage whilst you are breastfeeding. |

| Q. I need to lose 15kgs by april 2009 what can you recomend me to eat I don't do much excercise I am 60yrs old? |
(Posted: 27th Jan, 2009) |
A. It is going to be more realistic, and more healthy to set a longer time frame for this goal. Is there a reason that April is the time?
There are several fat burners available, all which are much more effective when you pursue an exercise and nutrition regime so I strongly suggest you put some goals in place here to assist you with your main goal.
Check out Hydroxycut the USA version, Balance Thermo Ripped, and NFS Slimfast. Please note however, if you are on any medication that this may interact so you will need to check with your doctor first. |

| Q. Hi, I am a 42 year old male. I have just lost 6 kg after changing to low carb diet and exercising by way of trail running. I want to lose weight/ fat as I have abs and muscle underneath still! I plan to join a gym to tone up, but first want to lose as much flab as possible. Which fat burning product would be best for me? I am running most days and gradually increasing distance? |
(Posted: 12th Feb, 2009) |
A. Hi there I would take a multi prong approach! Firstly you might want to use a protein powder to make sure you are losing your muscle gains from all that cardio. Taken after training this will help retain your muscle mass to burn more fat. Any protein will do the trick, but the Cytosport Complete whey is excellent buy at the moment at $86.
You could also try a fat burner pill like Axis Labs Adipo X taken as directed will definitely help with a few extra kilos over a period of 3-4 weeks. Hope this helps! |

| Q. Hi, I'm already taking whey protein and it looks like I should also be using creatine to boost size and strength. I've tried creatine in the past and found it hard to take because it didn't dissolve and was like drinking sand. I notice you sell capsules and dissolvable creatines now... do you have any recommendations as there's a lot to choose? |
(Posted: 19th Feb, 2009) |
| A. Hi there, yes creatine has come a long way since - as you say - it was only available in sand like powder form. Its still tolerable in this form, but the other problem is increased side effects such as headaches and dehydration. Newer forms of creatine such as Creatine Ethyl Ester are much easier to absorb and digest and more creatine gets into the muscle. Therefore, you dont need as much and can take in capsule form. By far our best selling capsulated creatine ethyl ester is Axis Labs Creatine Ethyl Ester. Its also superb value for money as we import this directly from Axis Labs. |

(Posted: 23rd Feb, 2009) |
A. For your leaning phase, you could also add a fat burner to the mix - check out Lipo 6x, Adipo-X, Hydroxycut and Sub-Q.
For the gaining phase, you could use a mass gainer powder, and some creatine.
For both you could add pre-workout products such as morph or fubar. You could also add a post workout product such as Halo or Size on. |

| Q. Hello. I'm not sure what protein to use. I've lost heaps of weight (140kg down to 85kg) over the last few years and am now trying to build muscle size. I do weights 4 times a week and play rugby on Saturdays. I had been using a normal protein powder (have a shake after each workout) and have just tried some mass gainer type protein stuff over the last month. I was worried i'd gain fat by using it but my waist measurement hasn't increased so figure i'm probably safe to use it and not undo any hard work losing it! What SHOULD i be using to help increase muscle size? I seem to be able to lift more, but muscle measurements are not going up like i'd hoped. Maybe i should go back to having more pure protein? Any advice of a product would be great? |
(Posted: 8th July, 2009) |
A. If you are worried about putting on fat, do not use a mass gainer!!! They contain high levels of fats and carbs and are therefore better for fast metabolisers.
Get a straight whey powder - check out Cytosport Complete Whey, or Leppin Sport Ultimate Whey.
You could also look at a preworkout booster that will enable you to work out harder and faster and that contain anabolic supporting nutrients - check out Isatori Morph, and Gaspari Superpump |

| Q. Best way to lose weight from upper stomach what should I take? |
(Posted: 15th July, 2009) |
A. Do you feel bloated after eating? Do you find it hard to loose weight? Are you sluggish and tired in the morning? Are your bowel movements slow? Do you not tolerate fatty foods very well? Do you get bigger hangovers than usual? Do you carry weight around your upper abdomen? If yes, do a liver cleanse!! The liver is responsible for fat metabolism so if it isn't working very well, you may be experiencing some or all of the above symptoms.
Check out the Ultimate Detox Kit, this is a fantastic product and would be a great place to start. Once you have cleansed, then you can look at enhancingyour bodies natural fat burning ability beyond the liver. |

A. For a stimulant free weight loss approach, check out Hoodia, CLA, and either LA Muscle Natrex, or Biotest Hard Body Solution.
Otherwise, check out Lipo6x, Sub-Q and Hydroxycut Hardcore! |

| Q. Im new to lifting and want to gain size,is it safe to use kre alkalyn or do you recommend phostrogen 1st,also have ice whey for post workout and spirulina tabs to help,my job is full on and cant always get protein into me thats when a supplement would be benefical, would do you recommend? |
(Posted: 24th July, 2009) |
A. Take your shaker already with protein powder in it to work and mix with water! Otherwise look for a supplement that has a full amino acid profile in capsule form - I think La Muscle does one that we sell, and we may be getting another in a couple of months. Or try a protein bar - Oh yeah bars are great!!
You can use either Kre-Alkalyn or Phosphagen, they are both creatine products that are safe to use. Choose one and get going!
If you are under a fair amount of stress, I would recommend taking some ZMA which contains Zinc, Magnesium and B6. These are the cofactors for making testosterone in the body, and also neuraltransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine and adrenaline. These particular vitamins and minerals, as well as those neuraltransmitters are depleted during stress. |

| Q. Hi, i need some advice choosing the right protein powder for me. i am 23 yro 85 kgs i workout 4-5 days a week and my goal is to loose belly fat while maintaining muscle mass. So far i looked at pvl whey maxx, horleys ripped factor and balance ultra ripped on your website. what would you recommed ? is there any other better brand that is should consider? |
(Posted: 27th July, 2009) |
| A. Any of the 3 you have looked at would be great for your needs. They are all fantastic products and I would recommend any of them. Horleys is lighter in flavour than the PVL but both are great tasting. The Ultra Ripped has extra fat burning ingredients added so this might be the go if that is something you are after |

| Q. Hi, Can you please tell me what fat burning products you would recommend for someone that is on Anti-depressants? I have been told i cant take reductil as it will interact badly? |
(Posted: 4th August, 2009) |
A. I would go stimulant free - check out some CLA, some Hoodia, and some carnitine as I think these are generally safe with most meds. Please check with your doctor first though!
Most other fat burners will interact sue to some of the ingredients. |

| Q. Hi, I am 21 years old and weigh 93kgs and am 1.85m. I currently work out 4-5 times a week a mixture of weights and cardio. Im currently on no protein. Im wanting to lose body fat and gain lean muscle. Can you recommend a protein powder and a fat-burner supplement that you think might be able to help me achieve my goal. I want to end up weighing about 100-105kgs more muscle than fat. Thanks? |
(Posted: 12th Sept, 2009) |
A. Hi there yes definitely a protein powder would be the first logical supplement to take, something like Horleys Awesome Mass would be perfect for your bulking phase of 6-8 weeks. Follow this with a lower fat, carb powder like Horleys Ripped or Horleys ICE Whey or if your on a budget, CrossFire.
Then is the time to take the fat burners but not much point taking them now if you are wanting to build muscle, better to take them during the cutting phase later on.
Hope this helps! |

| Q. I'm 18 and looking to gain weight and muscle fast. I noticed the protein powders in the "weight gainers" section have about half the the protein content of others such as Horleys Ice Whey and while the price was very different the price per serve and servings per day were similar. This left me wondering if it would make sense to buy the Horleys product and add a cheap carbohydrate like oats to my shake, increasing the carbs to that of the weight gainer but having double the protein. is there any drawbacks of doing this? |
(Posted: 23rd August, 2010) |
| A. Hi there, indeed thats possibly a more cost effective way to take protein and carbs. However, it may affect the absorption of the protein due to the carbs slowing it down. That may not be such an issue though. If cost is a factor, then you are right - using a high protein good value protein like PVL WheyMaxx, and adding carbs, would be better value per serve. |

| Q. Hi there,i'm 35 and are looking to build mass,a few years back i did weights and gained well just hope the muscle memory is still there but age is against me.Anyway,i was wondering is it better to take pvl mutant mass ,or just straight whey protein after a resistance session, and what are the best times to take the 2,thanks? |
(Posted: 23rd Sept, 2011) |
A. Hey there Brian
Mutant Mass is best used in the mornings and also straight after a workout, it contains the calories and protein needed to repair the torn muscles and also to make them grow.
A cleanm high calorie diet is also recommended aswell as Glutamine for recovery and Creatine for Size & Strength.
Hope this helps
Have a great day. |

Q. Hey there, i want to reduce by BF% what are some of the ways i can do that ?
Jamahl? |
(Posted: 29th Sept, 2011) |
A. 90% of loosing weight is what we eat. The other 10% comes from the training we do. I would recomemend a low calorie protein shake and a fat burner, best one on the market is "Ripped Freak" and they both aid with fat loss by giving you incresed energy, faster metabolism and it stops you having a "bad" meal aswell.
Hope this helps

Q. Hey there,
Wanting to 'bulk up' and have been using musashi bulk but now my doctor has told me to cut down on meat and also supplements containing iron. Any iron free weight gainers available? |
(Posted: 4th Oct, 2011) |
A. I would recommend Horley's Ice Whey. No iron but all the nutrients inside that you need if your cutting meat from your diet.
Best protein on the market.
Cheers |

| Q. Hi, I'm currently using Gaspari Myofusion, LA Muscle Norateen Heavyweight 2, LA Muscle and LA Muscle Fatstripper. I your opinion are these ok to stack? The result I am trying to get is build muscle but at the same time drop stubborn fat. Please be honest in your response. Cheers. M.Thomas? |
(Posted: 11th Oct, 2011) |
| A. They are fine to stack, Remember though that to burn that stubborn fat is essentially what you eat and the extra cardio you do. These supplements will definately help you but if the above mentioned arn't in order then the fat will stay. |

| Q. I've been reading about the benefits of maximizing the bio-active properties of a protein powder. As a result I'm considering switching from Horleys to Red8. Do you have an opinion on this? Thanks in advance? |
(Posted: 25th Nov, 2011) |
| A. Red 8 Is a very very good product,I am a horleys fan myself but would use Red8 in flash. They sponsor the New Zealand institute of sport and they have highly recomended it too. |

| Q. Hi i am an 18 year old female, i work out at the gym doing strength training and cardio around 3-5 times a week. I have never used any sort of supplements/shakes etc before and would like some advice as to what products would be best for me to start taking if im looking to lose around 8 - 10kgs and keep it off ? |
(Posted: 27th Jan, 2012) |
A. Hi,
The best thing to do would be to look at your diet firstly and see what unnecessaries you could cut back on. A high protein low carb whey protein powder would be good for recovery and also keeping lean muscle mass. This could be used before or after your workouts. Otherwise keep working out and start a food diary to see what you are actually putting into your body. |

| Q. Hey im a 40 yr old male taking a testosterone booster is it ok to take a fat burner supplement along with this? |
(Posted: 8th Feb, 2012) |
A. It is ok to use a fat burner and testosterone booster at the same time.
However, that's NOT going to guarantee that you lose fat whilst gaining muscle. Losing fat and gaining muscle are at the OPPOSITE ends of the DIET spectrum: To lose fat you have to consistently be eating LESS than Maintenance; to gain muscle you have to consistently be eating MORE than Maintenance.
The ONLY way you will achieve BOTH at the SAME time is by ensurign that you manipulate your diet for it (i.e. calorie cycling). It IS possible; and it is a SLOW process, so you must have patience. |

| Q. Hi I am a 26 year old female, 5"5 and 52kg. Lifting weights 4 times a week and cardio 5 times a week. Am watching my diet and am including protein shakes. Could you recommend a product that will help with fat loss around some problem areas? Cheers? |
(Posted: 8th Feb, 2012) |
| A. Hi, Unfortunately you cannot spot reduce fat, however you can slowly cut it back overall, keep eating healthily and exercising. CLA is said to help reduce body fat and increase lean body mass. If you feel your metabolism is slow you can try a fat burner. |
