Muscletech are one of the world’s most foremost supplement companies producing a huge range of products to suit everyone from the casual trainer all the way to the professional athlete. One of their most popular supplements over the years has been their successful fat burner Hydroxycut, which itself comes in several variants. Less than a year after the introduction of Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite, Muscletech have brought out a new variant; the Muscletech Hydroxycut SX-7
Muscletech’s new Hydroxycut SX-7 contains 7 core active ingredients in a specially designed complex known as the “Super Xtreme Thermogenic Complex”, of which the supplement itself was named after. The ingredients found in this complex include a mixture of well known fat loss ingredients including green coffee bean extract, caffeine, raspberry ketones and yohimbe bark (which unfortunately won’t be available in the New Zealand variant of the product. The complex also contains some lesser known thermogenic ingredients including myristica fragrans seed extract, sage leaf powder and ecklonia cava stem and leaf extract.
Muscletech’s Hydroxycut SX-7 is a gentler fat burner than the Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite in terms of stimulatory effects and focuses more on supporting appetite suppression and improved mood, focus and concentration thanks to ingredients such as myristica fragrans and sage leaf powder. Green coffee bean extract are proving to be an increasingly popular fat loss ingredient which has been studied to support fat and weight loss with supplementation over time. The active ingredient of green coffee bean extract; chlorogenic acid is needed in doses ranging from 120-300mg. Hydroxycut SX-7 provides 180mg per capsule, more than enough to meet the requirements used in positive fat loss studies. If Yohimbe is replaced by some extra caffeine or another stimulant such as bitter orange extract, there’s no doubt that it will rank as one of the more potent fat burners around.
The Hydroxycut SX-7 is currently only available in capsules and will most likely stay that way. The recommended serving size is 1 capsule with each container holding 70 or 140 capsules.
The best thing about Muscletech’s Hydroxycut SX-7 is that it is completely transparent with respect to their ingredients and the amounts of their ingredients. This makes it easy for the consumer to compare with other fat burners but also with scientific studies of the ingredients. The transparency of Muscletech highlights the company’s belief in their product but also their respect to the consumer, who many other companies seem to treat as uninformed. As previously mentioned, Hydroxycut SX-7 aims to support increase metabolism and thermogenesis (increased body heat production) but also improved focus, mood and attention; all aspects which can be depressed during fat and weight loss routines and which can lead to poor diet and exercise choices. Appetite suppression is also a key highlight of Hydroxycut SX-7 and another factor that often ruins people’s fat and weight loss efforts.
While Hydroxycut SX-7 is by all means an innovative product, it should be noted that some of the ingredients such as Raspberry Ketones and Ecklonia Extract are slightly underdosed if only one capsule was consumed and would require another capsule to really exert significant effects. However, this move will also increase the amount of caffeine you’ll be consuming which in high amounts can be a negative experience for consumers who aren’t used to stimulants. To avoid this, gradually build up by consuming the recommended dose for 1-2 weeks before increasing if required.
Overall Muscletech’s Hydroxycut SX-7 ticks all the boxes in terms of what a good fat burner should do. It was designed to not only support metabolism and thermogenesis, but also assist with improving moods, focus and attention as well as appetite suppression. It’s a very well rounded fat burner from a very respected company and should no doubt be a fan favourite in 2014.
